As our hearts and minds are prepared and open, we go up to the mountain of the Lord's House, to hear His word.
I wept tears to listen to President Eyring speak this morning, and his message about learning through suffering. Elder Scott also spoke of matters that touched upon personal circumstances and feelings very similar to our own.
All of the speakers of this conference seem to have in mind that the saints will encounter many existing and new challenges in the days ahead.
Let us be worthy to face the challenge, and serve the Lord with all our heart, might, mind, and strength. I have little enough to offer, but that I have I willingly dedicate to that effort.
May we so serve in faith.

Section 38 of the Doctrine and Covenants, the Lord counsels...
I tell you these things because of your prayers; wherefore, treasure up wisdom in your bosoms, lest the wickedness of men reveal these things unto you by their wickedness, in a manner which shall speak in your ears with a voice louder than that which shall shake the earth; but if ye are prepared ye shall not fear.
The Lord answers prayers. He takes the trouble to explain in a logical manner, and to make known that we don't want to know what is in store if we side with the wicked, but reassures that if we are prepared we "shall not fear" the wicked or what they can do.

I was particularly impressed with the emphasis of Elder Packer's priesthood meeting address. He underscored the importance of not fearing the power of the adversary several times throughout his talk, and quoted Joseph Smith as asserting that those with bodies always have more power than those that do not.
The tone of the entire conference so far has been one of promoting the Lord's message to preparation.
